What is an IBCLC?

An IBCLC is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. We are the gold standard in lactation support, education, and providing of breastfeeding care in any setting.

What happens at a consult?

When I come into your home, I will do a pre/post feed weight on the baby, perform a comprehensive oral assessment, evaluate the baby’s mouth, tongue placement, and suck. I spend about an hour and a half to two hours working with you and your baby while sitting through an entire nursing session. We’ll review nursing positions, different holds, and the importance of an effective latch. We will work together on your individualized lactation care plan that you can immediately implement at home.

Does insurance cover your services?

I do not bill insurance at this time. I do accept HSA/FSA cards. At the end of the consult I will provide you with a superbill (medical receipt) that may be eligible for insurance reimbursement.
